Shawarma Seasoned Chicken Thighs
Ingredients:
4 chicken, thighs (opt for boneless if you’d like to make a bowl or wrap)
1 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1.5 teaspoon sumac
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1/teaspoon clove
1.5 teaspoon paprika, smoked or regular
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 large lemon, juiced
Directions:
1.Combine all ingredients together in a container with 3-4 chicken thighs and shake to cover entirely. Leave to marinate for 20 minutes, a few hours, or overnight. Preheat oven to 350F when ready to cook.
2.Sear chicken skin-side down in a skillet on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes until browned and then flip and transfer to oven for 35-40 minutes.
3.Serve with a salad tossed in my Lemon Yogurt Tahini Dressing, brown rice, or in a healthy wrap with beet hummus and pickled turnips.
Alternatively, you can do this in an air fryer and cut the time down by about half if you have one!
