Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats
Ingredients:
3/4 cup organic raw oats
1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk, or milk of choice
1/4 cup Greek yogurt, (optional)
2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
1 tablespoon almond butter (or other nut butter of choice, almond, cashew etc)
1/2 small apple, of choice chopped up into pieces
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon, ground
1 tablespoon walnuts, finely chopped up
1 teaspoon hemp hearts
1 teaspoon chia seeds
Directions:
1.Before going to bed the night prior, if using yogurt or skyr, add a layer into the bottom of your desired size of mason jar and then add a small layer of organic oats. Drizzle some maple syrup on that layer. Add another layer of oats. Put a spoonful of nut butter on top of that layer and top with another thin layer of oats. Drizzle with a bit more maple syrup. Add the hemp hearts and chia seeds. Top with one more layer of oats so that the mason jar is about 3/4 full.
2.Pour almond milk (or milk of choice) into the mason jar so that the milk rests about a cm above the top layer of the oats (it will soak into the oats overnight). Add the chopped up apple, walnuts and sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
3.Put the lid on the jar and leave in the fridge overnight!
4.When you wake up in the morning, shake up or stir up the contents in the jar to mix it all together and enjoy at home or at work!
