Hoisin BBQ Sauce Chicken Thighs

Hoisin BBQ Sauce Chicken Thighs

Ingredients

Serves 2–4 · Great for meal prep
  • 4 chicken thighs, skin on
  • ½ can tomato paste
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp coconut aminos
  • 1 tsp miso paste
  • 1 tsp olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method

  1. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Place skin-side down in the air fryer at 350°F.
  2. Whisk all remaining ingredients together to make the BBQ sauce. Taste and adjust seasonings.
  3. After 10 minutes, flip the chicken skin-side up and cook for another 5 minutes.
  4. Brush the BBQ sauce generously over the chicken skin and air fry for a final 5 minutes until fully cooked through.
  5. Add extra sauce when serving. Pairs well with rice, roasted potatoes, salads, or sautéed vegetables. Leftovers are great in wraps with kimchi and pickled vegetables.
